i am soon buying a 91 civic dx for really cheap. it has teh stock d15b2 dx motor and i was thinking of turboing it but i searched and most were against it and said to swap

i'm not looking to spend alot so i was going to look into a sohc swap and do a d series turbo so what would be your suggestion for the d series motor and what turbo to match it with?

keep in mind i'm not gonna throw it together in a week i will just go look around at junkyards for parts and build it in time

but my main concern at the moment is getting the car which should be in atmost a month, then i want to buy a tranny and fix the brake lines and the car should be fine...

so after that i was going to start looking for a turbo/misc parts and upgrades, and an engine so if u have a d series turbo and ur engine/turbo combo is really nice i'd liek to know what your running...also i dont need anythign really big and really laggy...it will be daily driven but my goal is around 200-250hp

if you are getting a trany ---- the d series go with a b18 or b16 or b something you can get a b18b for 1600 with trany ecu and misc.

well i wasnt planning on spending all this money for a b series...i might go b18a1 cuz i can probably get a motor for free from my tech school since they usually just trhow them out but i was planning on waiting cuz when i go to this college and i was gona do a b20/vtec cuz i am gonna work with resleeving, boring, honing and stuff liek that so i was gonna do that later and just wanted a little d series to run without paying too much

well i figure i can get a d series from a friend for maybe 400-600 then lets say at most 1000 for turbo components...i was also looking at the d15b on hmotorsonline...i know its vtec and would not really mind wiring it up in the car considereing i may want to go with a vtec later down teh road

but isa d15b vtec good for boosting lets say at most for like 10psi

If you can get the B18 from your school for free that would be good. If not, boost the D15 if all you need is 200-250 whp. The $400-600 you might spend to get the D16 from your friend plus the $1000 you have for the turbo stuff will get you your HP goal.
