interseting choice of location...

you will definately need a scoop of some sort to get much advantage.. even with a scoope there isnt much room for air to flow through it...

if I were you I would get someone to make a box around it and do a air/water just like jeffs... it would work good and you could keep it in that location without modifying your hood

good luck!

hey did anyone think of this? why not just reverse the direction if the spinning fan to make it a pull fan? (wait, or is it a pull fan already?) either way if u mount the pull type fan on the back of the cooler it will pull air through it whenever he wants it to. and if u dont, then dont turn it on. it will probably also cool the turbo too cause it will be blowing air on the turbo and keeping the hot air away from the intercooler. just my two cents. damn, now i think im gonna do that!!

yeesh, do the damn fan thing.. put a aftermarket air temp guage just after the BOV. See what the damn air temp is b4 u turn on the fan and after.. then tell us if its worth the effort! its not like its going to cost u anything since u already have a damn fan... !

Allright guys...thanx. I'm gonna try to put it out front, but I will have to get through some crossmembers to get it out as far forward as possible. Yeah, like crx88Si said, I will not cost me anything for the fan, just for the pipes and temp sensor which I need anyway... I will put some kind of box around it w/ the fan mounted somewhere behind the intercooler, maybe not right behind it, but close enough enable it to ventilate and creat some kind of vacum ... also i'll get the fan hooked up to some kind of switch inside the civic so i can turn it on and off... but not gonna water-cool it ... the water cooling thing-I don't understand? Hot coolant through intercooler I'm sure it works, since people do do it. But I guess those people are some kind of 'bloody magicians"( quoted from ozzy on the pepsi comerical-thought it was funny) . I will post back about the results. Again, I thank all of you people for the help and opinions.

by the way, is anyone on this board from michigan?

Why not do a MK2 Volkswagen style fan shroud with the flaps that open when cruising to allow air to flow but then vacuum shut when the fan is on so the shroud can still pull air from the whole radiator core? Then you could have cold aftercooler for takeoff and still be efficeint when cruising.
