Just wanted to know what some of your opinions are on intercooler. Im trying to go for a nice cheap setup on a B16 and am boosting max of about 7-8psi on stock engine.

I was thinking of buying an intercooler and wanted to know whether I should go out and buy an aftermarket one (~$200-300) or just stick with the DSM side mount intercooler? Also would an aftermarket one be significantly better than the DSM SMIC for 7-8psi?

if I was you I would go aftermarket, customcoach/tyrus, because in the long run you will get an aftermarket, get the best from the beginning, I know because I made lot of mistakes before I realized that. I went through stock intercoolers before I got a customcoach, the stock ones total adds up to be more than the cc, and also for newer civics the side mounts are a pain. long opinion? but thats my opinion.

if you have the greeny green green laying around.... go aftermarket.. if youre trying to be frugal like 99% of the people on here.. a $20 DSM side mount sure does sound good.... i know thats what i;m gonna use

U can get that starion front mount if you like that front mount look. :P

I could have gotten the starion intercooler which prolly would have cost about $100 nowadays and the modify the ends. Since I can't weld **** and will probably get my @$$ gipped at the muffler shop, I'll probably spend like $150+ so I said screw that and bought one on Ebay for $235 shipped...

got it from a guy "issani"... supposedly its made of bar and plate and looks pretty nice even comes with lil tabs so I can just screw it on the existing bar... Figure its worth the convenience and hoping it would work nicely...

did i get f'ed! shiet... his last ones were bar and plate... man!

Oh well... I guess I just have to deal with it... its ok I'm only boostin 7-8psi anyways
