I've got a b18a block laying around..i'm planning on building it for turbo..sleeves,pistons,rods etc..
should i leave it a full ls motor or would it be better
to go ls-vtec...whats a good turbo for reasonable 400 horses? 60-1? regular t3/t4?..running with an aem ems.proper fuel and spark.?..i've got a couple grand..but
need some ideas to help achieve my goal...and it will be going into a 88 crx hf...let me know your 2 cents..thanks

 

60-1 or a ball bearing turbo or GT35

 

and definitely the ls-vtec

lsvtec...i think the vtec heads are made to rev higher and if you can make power all the way up to 9k+

 

with the proper valvetrain

 

VTEC heads breath way better. I saw a ,88 HF before it had:
B18a(stock)
Drag manifold
60-1
BFMIC
450s
AFC
Clutch, and Quaiffe

on 22x8" slicks it ran mid 11s.

 

no point in LS vtec..infact it's a waste of money..... those are good for all motor setups, but not forced induction. the block wasn't meant to handle boost or vtec. putting both on there will be testing it.........

PS, set a realistic goal. You'll need 20 psi and 100 shot to get 400 whp.
