OK, guys, let me tell you who I am and where I’m from, and above all, what the hell am I trying to do. I’m a school teacher working on my MA in the Caribbean University. Of course, I’m continuing my PhD on Educational Technology. I live on the sunny island of Puerto Rico. I’m 49 years old, and I’m a veteran of the invasion of Panama. (All the Way). My wife is from Pasadena CA. She is from Zacatecas Mexico. I worked in the famous school of Pacoima Middle School. This is the school where Ritchie Balans “Para Bailer la Bamba” remember. I work as a school teacher during the day (High School) and in the evening I go to and from campus. I’ve raced in Rallies and Solo 1. I love road racing. So, hay, I’m not a guru in cars, before I went to the service I had a RX3SP. So, there toy have it guys.:1

Sorry turbohf If I seem stupid. Breathing is easy, but a stranger has to slap you in the but when you're born in order for you to breath, and live. Peace man.

one thing that is usually valuable on this turbo is the staqe 1½ turbine shaft but as the picture shows, it has been taken off and replaced by some smaller wheel !! picture shows a 1/8" gap all around the turbine wheel. that's not gonna help the efficiency of the turbo.
HEY blaast just wondering why we were on the subject i have the same turbo and it has the original wheel. how much of a spool diffrence compared to a stage 1

on another note: Thats sweet i can tell the ricer **** around town i have a stage 1 1/2 turbo.
because that seems to be a popular ricer Q?

Well Dude, if the Batos from Panama didn't, or couldn't kill me when the invasion. I doubt that a simple question or lack of knowledge will. Thanks anyway, I'll take your advice and look over FAQ.

Yes most of these T3 flanged turbos with the funny wastegate are stage 1½.
do not mistake with the audi and VW diesel that had a different, trapezoid shaped flange. Those have standard t3 wheels.
Sure, the stage 1½ spools up faster. it has more low end response and the improvement is major. You'll definitely feel it!
of course for making any decent power you need to use it with a larger compressor side such as t3 60 or most any T04B or T04E.

No you need either an external or an internal wastegate. The internal wastegate is whats already on your turbo, but someone says is not working or disabled. So either buy a new internal or go with an aftermarket external wastegate. Both do the same job, but i have heard good and bad things about both, such as boost creep or complete failure in some instances (mostly internal, never really hear too much bad about the external wg other than the obvious "My cheap wg messed up again" threads). Its up to you though, it is required though. A bov only releases the air from your cold side imbetween the turbo and throttle body so that when the throttle plate closes it doesn't force your turbine wheel to stop suddenly and spin backwards. Thats a good thing. Its in no way a replacement for a wastegate, two totally separate things. Im not even close to an expert, just a lurker, but im pretty sure i haven't lied to you.
