my car was quieter with an open turn down off the turbo than it was before the turbo with 2.5" exhaust and a resonator and muffler.

 

I ran the GST open downpipe for a couple of hours once, it really didn't sound bad at all. It sounded like it does right now (with full free flow exhaust and ----) but just a lil bit louder.

 

yep, and I even got a guy in a camaro telling me that i needed to tighten down one of my exhaust bolt lol. It was louder than his v8 camaro.

Now having open downpipe on a honda and having open downpipe on a v8 is a totally different thing. Don't get it confused. I've ran open head before and it is ------- LOUD - especially when dealing with a v8

 

yeah true man. I'm not trying to compare my open downpipe to his exhaust. Beside he was running a stock exhaust. Where his sounds good and my open down pipe sounds like crap. I just thought it was funny how my open down pipe was annoying to him that's all. Had to be there to see the whole picture. I think what the guy in the camaro was trying to say was that my ---- wasnt loud it sounded like *** lol

 

what about open dumptube? i have no idea how it sounds or when its actually dumping in videos.

When i had my old turbo crx i all i ran was open downpipe.It sounded pretty sick and never got pulled over.

 

Same principles with open downpipe v8 as open downpipe i4. Cadracers Turbo SBC was open DP for along time and it wasnt any louder than my open DP Ls/vtec. The only time it was louder is when we tried that t4 and ran open DP, With the exhaust housing being so much bigger it probably added a good 20% audible noise.

It's not bad to drive like this, but it will bring the cops attention, especially if your like me always ripping up and down streets in your car, so becarful.

Yea im a little nervous, because im not going to be able to have a downpipe for my setup when i get it, i dont have any welding experience, and eventually will pay for it.

So a dsm o2 housing wont fit a 4th gen sohc? does anyone know how much off it is? could i bang it with something so it would fit? It would make it a lot easier!!

 

Wouldnt it be nice if it fit? hehe, definatly not going to happen unless you cut about 2in by 4in section out of your front cross member. Once you do your first mock up you will see how badly it would hit. Your better off making the custom o2 housing and custom DP.
