How bad would a 14b do on a b16?
I know the 14b is a small turbo, I've had a couple of them on my d-series motors before so I know what they're limited to. And after mocking up my turbo and manifold on my b16a, I ran in to a big snag...even with a new front crossmember, new radiator, DP and all the rest, this bitch won't fit. It's just plain out too big for my engine bay. So, after talkin with a friend of mine, he's gonna trade me a whole shitload of stuff and one of my old rebuilt 14b's. Now after thinking long and hard about what I want out of this car, even in n/a b16a form it's alot of fun, just not fast. At the most to keep it reliable and drivable every day I'd be happy with 200hp-ish...after this I think I'm done building Honda's for good. Now, if I left the stock wastegate open a crack so it didn't start spooling up until around, say 4500 rpm, do you think it would be able to handle up to 8000rpm without dropping off too drasticly? I'm only looking for a little added push here, nothing insane or crazy.
