How bad would this be for temporary?
After driving my 89 hatch for a little while with just a bone stock b16a in it, I decided it def. needs a little more get-up and go to it. What I'm thinking of doing is using my old 14b turbo with a custom (read homemade ) log manifold and holding the stock wastegate open a bit to lag the turbo so it doesn't spool up until at least after 3700 rpm. Now I'm only looking for about a 50 hp jump, and I know it's def. a way too small turbo, but for now I've run out of money and this is what I still have to work with. My biggest concern is my ecu...I have a pr3 chipped with BRE that was tuned for a b16/sc61 with dsm 450's up to about 11psi. I know it's going to run dog ---- rich, but how bad would it be to run it with that tune (I have a link to the actual basemap if anyone has BRE and wants to check it out) and scale some fuel out with my vafc until I get some dough scraped together to get it back to the dyno for tuning? And more importantly, how bad would it ---- up my timing, seeing that it would be scaled back under boost? Max this motor is going to see is 7psi out of this undersized snail, just enough to give me a little bump for traffic in the morning and night, but I would like to see the motor last more than a couple weeks with this shitty setup

do you have 450 injectors for it? do you have a burner and bre software? do you have a wideband? if you have all those things, even if you cant tune it, you can play with the fuel correction untill you get decent numbers.....but without a wide band and the ability to do a little tuning on it, i think it will run fine untill you hit boost, then it will be rich in boost, but rich in boost isnt gonna blow up the motor its just gonna foul plugs and cause less power than it should have....i say it'll be fine....
