Default Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket

Anyone here using it? Any noticable gains on the butt dyno?

And does anyone know if any of our sponsors carry this product?

I'm pretty sure I will be purchasing one shortly, strictly as a safety measure...it would be a bonus to see some increased horse power though as well

Do they have one for the B18 A/B? I don't see how it could hurt performance unless it leaked...which I don't think is very likely.

Yeah they do...I inquired about it sometime back from a vendor on H-T...if I remember correctly it was about $65 shipped which ain't too bad I figure for cooler intake temps and less heat soak in the IM

I have one on my b18c1 turbo. I can tell a difference because last year when I went to the track, I could NOT touch the IM in between runs.

When I did go this year the IM was to the point that you could put your hand on it and keep it on and not burn your hand. 98ctr

I'd have a hard time justifying spending $65 on an intake manifold gasket...

then don't, im just telling you guy from my own experience. If you can keep the IM from heatsoaking as much as you can then the $65 its worth it to me. 98ctr

I was reading on boosted-hybrid's site and he said it kept temps down 20-25 degreees on the dyno. I think when I build my motor I am going to give it a try.

Thats my experience as well.

Its mostly a way of controling the rate at which your IM heat soaks, vs the end temp it will ultimately reach while sitting. After just 8-10secs of decel in gear your IAT temps can jump as much as 15-20*. These gaskets slow that rate dramatically.

FYI, leaving your engine running will increase your IAT's at a MUCH slower rate than turning it off for short periods. Thats my datalogging experience atleast.
