Its mostly a way of controling the rate at which your IM
FYI, leaving your engine running will increase your IAT's at a MUCH slower rate than turning it off for short periods. Thats my datalogging experience atleast.

BTW, best price so far I have found is $59 shipped.

Re:Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
i threw one on my y8 the last time I changed my headgasket. I didn't really notice any difference in power, but i guess the im is a little cooler. Its still hot as ----, but not as hot. Still definantely worth the money imo though because it is reusable unlike the ---- stock gaskets.

Re:Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
I looked into those things before. I know on HT there was a guy trying to sell them and it got pretty heated cause nobody knew him so they were questioning him about what it was made out of. If I remember correctly it was said what it was made out of. Someone should find the material and make an HMT IM gasket.
Can you say "the next HMT sponsor"

Re:Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
i have seen them made out of a material called "phenolic" do a google on it and it should give you some description on the applications and properties of it. there are even some sites out there where guys are making their own and providing test results. i'd make one, but i can't buy the material cut to what i need, they only sell them in 4'x8' sheets and they are almost $300! perhaps i'll have to look into it a bit more.

Re:Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
They sell these for the 5.0 mustangs...I know because that was my first built car (built it myself from a bare block, thank you very much...anyway...) They are supposed to stop the heat soak to the top part of the manifold and keep the charge temp lower...I knew a couple of people that used them on the cars and didn't really see much deference. They do make the intake runner a little longer so you will gain a little low end torque but you just end up loosing it on top...but overall they don't seem to do much. They do have a little more affect on setups for autocross and roundy round racing where you are under load for long periods of time....
