can you explan how you would pic up some hp from taking the coolant lines off the t/b ?
and why would you want to take 50lbs of the front of your car
if you could answer any of them that would help me out alot in thinking about how insaine your reply was thanks

and removing weight beheit above the driving wheels or not would lighten the car (its easier to push around a light car then aheavy one) although traction might be decreased.

coolant lines on the intake manifold heat up the incoming air, the colder the air, the more dense the air is, hence, you can make more power.

please show me proven proff that the coolint lines to the intake manifold show any less heat going to it that is the most stupidest thing i hurd the only thing it does is stop it from worming up faster on cold days
and removing weight from your front will give you more wheel hope and more traction probs so how is that making you go faster by spending more time sitting there spinin your tires

Re: HMT:DIY free horsepower
try bypassing your im coolant lines and touch the intake mani after some time..i bet it's much cooler...maybe that is why people who make custom sheet metal intakes don't use the lines?? it might be .55 hp...but we're just looking for little stupid tricks here

Re: HMT:DIY free horsepower
Look, I'm not trying to pick a fight but I have tested this coolint ( mod) and got completely different results. Unfortunately I didn't do the super accurate "hand temperature" test.
I took my car for a 10 minute drive and came back to my house and let the car idle until the rad fan came on (which is when the coolant is the hottest it will be) and took a reading on my manifold with the coolint lines hooked up using an infrared temperature sensor. I conducted the same test the following day with them unhooked and the surface temperature was exactly the same. I do not remember the actual temperature (mid 200's) but it was pretty well the same. I believe it was hotter with it unhooked actually, but that could just be a variation in the outside temperature as well or something like that. Regardless it was within 1-2 deg so it was the same for all intensive purposes.
While I appreciate that you may have found that it was cooler I did a test with an accurate instrument and there was no difference.

how would removing the lines make the intake manifold warmer, I call BS on anything you say, moron.
