just get some god dam dsm 450's and a new regulator, new burnt base map from xenocron. Do a compression test first to check your pistons. You will be very happy with the results.

will it be point less to get everything in working order on a block that has bad rings or would that just make everything worse. the reason i ask is because my engine has 160 across the board when i did a comp. test. i already have a spare block but i want to refurbish the block (replace bearings, gaskets and such) the reason i want to do it this way is because i am broke for the most part and i just want to get the car running rite before i put the new block in. i understand that the car will not run at its besst but i would expect that but it should run have decent to ensure i dont blow my other block.
