Default help me clock my tdo4

i just got my td04, but i need to clock it 90*. there is a gold clamping band around the center section that looks as though holds the oil/water section to the exhuast housing. then there is a circlip that holds the intake housing to the center section. i tried loosening the gold clamp, but i couldn't get the intake side to rotate. is the only way to clock this turbo the circlip or do the sections just get stuck together? btw it is a tdo4 off a 02 wrx.

To rotate the compressor, you will need to get some snap ring plyers and get that ring out first, then you can rotate it. If you want to rotate the center section, you may have to grind out the alignment pin on the exhaust housing.

if you grind off the pin and rotate the housing, might it rotate while in operation?
