The resistor box has nothing to do with the "hack". What the resistor does is change the "peak and hold" charateristic of the DSM 450cc injectors to compensate with the Hondas "saturated" requirement. You can get the resistor box from a junkyard for $3-5. Just make sure that you test it using a multimeter. It should read 6 ohm. By the way, not only 88-91 CRX/civic has it. I have 3 of it and 2 came off an 86 Lude and 87 Teg. A picture of this resistor box can be seen on my web site at www.thermal99.20m.com under "modification2" tab. If you are in U.S. and needing one of these, hit me up. I'll sell one for $5 plus shipping and handling.
On a different note, I will try lowering my setpoints on the VAFC again. I will go with -42% trim as suggested. Thanks

What kind of car/truck do you want to put in? S10? It really depends on what your car injector system is. In fact, it may not even fit your car/truck. Sorry, I got so used to being around Honda cars too much.

1g Crx's and D16a1's from 1g tegs uses hold and peak injectors that require an injector resistor box.

88-91 HF/SI uses hold and peak injectors that require an injector resistor box.

90-91 Integra uses hold and peak injectors that require an injector resistor box.

92 + Civic/Integra uses Saturated style injectors, that do not require an injector resistor box.

90-99 DSM 4g63 Turbo models uses Hold and peak injectors that require an injector resistor box.


Kinda see whats going on? If you want dsm injectors in your 95 or whatever civic/teg you will need to use the resistor box. Or you can put inline resistors in from radio shack.
