Default help on 1st boost ?

hello all..i just found this site from random searches on honda-tech, this place is gravy from what i see, i wanna ask this question that i think you guys can help me with " the boost project ": we have a 92 accord ex with i/h/e ( yea we're broke we all use the car ), now it's about 3 of us to put money in the pot for a lil boost, none of us have driven in boosted cars so we just want to feel the boost on his car ( just so we can understand them better first hand then move on from there ) so the money saved for the turbo is around 5-6 hundred ( just for the set-up ), could we see decent gains with this ?(hopefully around 190-200 whp so we can keep up or kill 2k2 maximas) if so what parts would we need ?, i think a t3 should be a good starter but i'm pretty much lost after that ( this is where you guys come in ) 4-5 psi would be for low boost and 8-9 if we want to have some fun anyway.. can i get a run down of what we will need to get for this to work ? closest to price range as possible would be appreciated but i know you gotta pay to play ( jus if it costs a considerable amount more we'll jus spend the money on something else )

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED ! ! ! THANX TO YOU ALL !

t3 turbo - ~$100
manifold - ~$50 if you can use a OEM manifold and adapter plate ~ $50
$300 or so if you need to buy a aftermarket manifold
$100 for FMU
whatever gauges you want to buy - ~$75
really cheap 1g dsm BOV - ~$25
whatever intercooler you can find... widerange of prices
$150 for a boost timing master
whatever you gotta pay for piping and downpipe welding

thats about the cheapest route you can go. maybe 7 or 8psi and you're pushing it. but with a btm you should be ok

now everyone reply and prove me wrong :P

heh i can beat 2k2 maximas and integra gsr and eclipse turbos and s2000s and 300zx and supras and rx7s and all those kinda cars on the primaries :P

its fun to race someone when they have it hammered and you're half throttle yawning then you give them the thumbs down and slam it. thats the greatest thing ever...

A BTM(Boost Timing Master) will retard the timing so it doesn't pop a piston running to advanced. The adapter plate is a 3/4" piece of steel that bolts to the right manifold and the other side bolts to the turbo. It just makes it so you can link them together. You will also need some charge piping and oil lines. It starts out cheap but everything adds up quick.

I am starting to buy a couple parts and it can get out of hand if you are not careful. Fuel management and timing seem to be the biggest issue so you don't blow the motor.
