I've been thinking about picking up an early 90's Escort gt and slapping a turbo on it. My friend has one with the mazda dohc setup going on with a t3 and only an afc for management, but it still hauls *** pretty well. And the best part is that where I live, Escorts are all over the place...can't go into on boneyard without finding at least 10 of em. Not to mention the nice solid deck block.

there are many people boosting the second gen escorts...they are a great platform for it, and the 1.8 dohc is the same engine as the miata, so there is an aftermarket for them

You must be pretty good with your roommate being able to paint ---- and assembling a engine in your room. I would just get a saab exhaust housing cause those chrysler snails are nasty.
