Default headgasket thickness

is it worth using a thicker head gasket from cometic.com or a stock 3 layer for an 8 pound setup on a zc.

ok simple question-
thicker head gasket= less compression ration which is good for boost and a their is a less chance of detonation.
But since it will be around 8 psi, go for the other one your choice.
Remember if you get a copper head gasket, which are the best, your block has to be o-ringed, a hassle that I'm going through right now. Get a good quality head gasket, you dont want to blow it, then have to take out the head!

why not just use a oem HG and run 8psi??

lower compression + 8psi = 170hp
higher compression + 6psi = 170hp

get my drift? of course the HP numbers vary with the real compression ratio..

And how thick is your greddy and where have you found it?

BTW,what would be the comp ratio with two std head gasket?Cause I've planed to run 10psi boost and thus would like to have a comp ratio of about 9.5:1 ...
