blockguard is supposed to keep your sleeves from cracking.heres a pic of a blockguard


block decked means shaving off the top of the block to either raise the compression, or to take out warpage so the head sits more flush with the block.

File fit the block guard and then bore and deck the block after if you are going to use one.
