Re: Grassroots-motorsports $2008 Civic Si Build 56K no way
Not sure about cleaning , but paint for sure. I will throw in a few bucks for cleaning to appease the judges.. So far I am under the budget .. the real kicker is gonna be wheels and tires...
The hoosiers I have posted will likely not be included. this is gonna be my autocross car for the season and lapping car. I am keeping an eye out for a set of 13"s (nice and wide)

I freakin love this project, because I feel it epitomizes what HMT was originally all about. Budget builds, ghetto fabbing, being a cheap *** ****, and have a car that is fast as ---- in the end. (even if they weren't always so reliable). It definitely shows what someone can do to improve their car on a tight budget. It does help that you've gotten some pretty decent hookups, but nonetheless, its gangstur. Keep up the good work, and keep updating the thread. I think this should be a sticky when all is said and done

Been busy with a new Job working for GM in advertising.. new Girlfriend.. but made some progress over the last 2 weeks
Cutting out old bolts with the plasma ... prepping for poly bushings.
Rear bumper remounted with Rebar removed , secured with some quick release fastners.
new ching chong fenders , my partner in the build has a father with a few bodyshops.. new fenders were $28 Each...
I hate rust , the antenna mount was munched . Cut it out with a dremel and a cutoff wheel , cut out a new peice of sheet , tacked it in , bondo , primed and painted it with tremclad ""fire red"" which is nealry identical to the factory stock...
No radio , no care about antenna... Check out the baller $50 Sparco that got toasted by a welder.
I need a press , burning out bushings sucks ***...
Oh yeah... got a big 16G from a talon and a set of 5spd 91 talon injectors.... buddy is parting out his car...
