I'm using my AC condensor as the heat exchanger for my liquid intercooler. It's big, it's light, it's free, and it's already installed in the car.
As for the liquid, I wouldn't use gas. I'd run a seperate circuit. Water is the easiest, and is what I would go with unless you are going to run something crazy like a dry ice box, in which case you will need something that doesn't freeze until a much lower temp. I'm going to buy a chunk of dry ice and some denatured alcohol and experiment myself.

no, you run it threw a oil cooler type dill mounted to the front of the car then into the intercooler then back to resivor
