The biggest difference with the plug is how far the ceramic sits down in the well...the longer the ceramic, the hotter the plug and the less heat that's dissapated into the cylinder head and cooling jackets. Shorter ceramic moves the heat alot quicker to lower cylinder temps.
BTW, high 12 afr isn't that far off for 7psi...I like a nice 12.5 at that range, any richer into the 11 range and you start fouling plugs and misfiring regardless.

changing heat ranges on the plugs can change AF ratios.
Try some NGK R5671A-9's and see what happens
B16, 11.5:1 compression, 150 wet shot with a stage 3 ported head........
