I have one of those turbos in my garage. I took the elbow and cut it off just after the waste gate (before it makes its bend) with a band saw. Then I turned it 180 degrees and welded it back on so it points straight down now.

 

In about two weeks that turbo will be on my d15 with an external WG. I running a CX tranny so I should be slow as ---- out of the hole with the lag and the gearing in that CX tranny. But when it builds boost it should go like a ******! I can get 43 mph in 1st, 75 mph in 2nd so when i want to pass somone at 55 mph I'll drop it in 2nd watch the boost fly and I'll be gone.

 

i was thinking if i can get a manifold and the flange facing up then itll be okay but ya method work also you know what the a/r of that turbo ?

 

Not off hand but I did find the spec's online and printed it off. I see if I can find them and I'll post it.

6.5 0-60 is weak.

my zc w/ hybrid tranny + i/e did that on street tires. then i broke my axle.

so much for dropping the clutch at 5k.

 

i just try to ran it again it hit 5.8 sec but im not feeling the power i need to tune it

 

That big monster's spec's are:
.60 A/R turbine
.70 A/R compressor w/46 trim

 

witch side is 70 a/r the intake or exhaust
