Glad to see xtensive's getting some good press. I'd just like to add that:

1) ---- xtronic's Pocket POS. Save a few bucks, and get a more reliable product at www.batronix.com. If you've surfed PGMFI, you'll notice it's the #1 most used chip burner for a reason.

2) DIY soldering isn't that hard... just take it slow. There are plenty of how-tos on the net, and if you OMG lift a trace you can easily repair it with the "sexy jumper wire mod."

3) The Pocket Programmer is an overpriced pile of crap.

4) Ghettodyne works on 90-91 PR4... just use the .bin file included with Ghettodyne. The PR4 is closely related on a hardware level and can run the PM6 based code. Most any 88-91 Civic/Integra MPFI ECU will work, but you have to be able to make the custom adapter to plug in place of the CPU that will hold the old CPU, your PROM chip, and a 74HC373 latch. There are methods in the works for bypassing the adapter board, too.

5) Are you clear on the Pocket Programmer yet? I can post pictures of the THREE broken ones my friend Pete has, both before and after he smashes them with a hammer. If you have to buy an expensive chip burner, just don't buy that one.

Why can't I post gay **** here? I love lesbians.

Nah, you're good, man. No one starts out being an expert. I'm higher up the ladder than you on a hardware level, but as these things go I really know jack ----.

I understand that the PP has undergone a number of revisions to improve on it's flaws, but it's taken a couple years to do it. The latest version is supposed to be much better, but... it's taken... years.. to get there.

I'd much rather refer business to a company that already has a good hardware platform has always had a good hardware platform, and if they charge $25 for software (above the $45 for the Eeprommer 3.x kit) you get about eight updates for it a year as the owner constantly upgrades, adds new features, makes the interface easier to use, and adds support for more chips.

Hope I didn't **** you off, you seem like a good dude and always steer people right from what I've seen.
