Actually,

I have some newer pictures. The turbos are sitting about 3" higher than those pictures.

Yeah I think we tend to under estimate the lower a/r'S.

Yes, it's well known that a stage 1 0.48 a/r is not good for that much power... around 250-270 HP max but what happens if you use a bigger wheel such as stage 3 or enven T4 for example?

Blaast,

Since you have lots of experience with turbos you would know more then me. I already have a Garrett T3 60-1 (T04S) .48 A/R so I am saving money for another one. My motor can handle around 1,500 bhp or more depending on the stand alone I will be using. However, I am not looking for that much. I just want to max out my turbo and I will be very happy. If I can sqeeze around 450 to 500 rwhp from each turbo then my goal is achieved. However, this is not a full time race car. It will be mostly street terror machine. So lower end and quick spool is very important to me. I will most likely going to use Chevy auto transmission so lower end is very important.

Well here's the compressor map (page) for a t58 aka ts04:

http://turboneticsinc.com/cm_t58.htm

Based on some very rough math (based on lb/min of an LS motor), I'd assume that you'd get 14psi around 4-4500, assuming the intake/heads flow very well. My math basicly allows for ~33lb/min at 7k. For 2.35L (twins on a 4.7L) you'd have compressor surge before 22lb/min if you ran 14psi, which is be widest eff. range for that turbo. 22lb/min is around 4700rpm, and my wild guess would be 700whp. Not good math, but enough to think about.

My best suggestion would be to ask on some mustang forum. There should be some twin setups there, and the motors have similar displacement as you. Regardless, I'd have to say those turbos would be too big.

Just remember that the major problem in compairing most Honda engines against most Toyota's (Especially in the case of his 2uzfe/1uz-fe hybrid) is that the Toyota will make several times the power ouput in the lower rpm-band & because of it. Will have much greater exhaust flow earlier.

from a reliablility standpoint, you don'T want to MAX OUT a turbo.
the 60-1 compressor is able of 450 WHP with good efficiency. 500 WHP will be maxing it out IMO.

Turbine wise, if you got stage 3 turbines, 0.48 a/r are worth a try. Not sure how much HP they will flow. Swapping to 0.63 a/r later on is a quick and easy fix anyway.

Yes the turbo is Stage III. I will try it with smaller AR and move up as needed. With .63 AR i have seen over 550 whp in a 2.0 liter. So the T04S 60-1 is capable of achieving it. I am not sure about the .48 AR. That is why I am seeking dynos on the .48 in any 1.6 to 2.0 engines.
