fluxcore cureall or downfall?
Hey guys,
Just wondering when I get my manifold kit in would it be alrgiht to weld it my my lincoln (fluxcore)? will it hold up to the temps?
I've welded cat back and thats it with no prob. Just wondering if it can withstand the EGT's. Or should I (cringe) pay bubba joe at midas to weld it for me. I saw a down pipe fluxcored but I figure thats no wear near as hot right? let me know what you think......DL

Re: fluxcore cureall or downfall?
You will be fine.
And FYI: when it comes to a little welder, Fluxcore will be able to weld at a higher heat seeting and produce stronger welds on thicker material. It just doesn't look as nice.
Here is one of my FLuxcores right before I converted. I like welding hot. With fluxcore I found that you need good wire. No cheap stuff.

That was a Lincoln MigPack 110v welder with .030 or .035 Lincoln Wire. Aghain I suggest only QUALITY wire, shitty stuff melts funny causing HORRIBLE welds. Trust me I know from experience. It was buffed with a wire brush after, but if you work with fluxcore, the proper heat and wire peed, you can get next to not splatter and with a steady hand, a bead that almost looks like mig. I used to work with an ol' shitty Fluxcore at my old work so I learned how to mess around and "Listen" to my weld.
