Thanks for the input JD.. always giving good advice. However, the white valves are on the intake side (the head is flipped around). This engine didn't smoke at all when I was running it. d112crazy pointed out that it looked like coolant was leaking into that cylinder, which makes sense because the engine did run like a piece and clunked per rotation (not the same issue), hence I bought it uber cheap to swap.

I will most likely replace the valves in that cylinder just to be safe. I have a full FJT rebuild kit I got for free.

valves, springs and retainers removed..


#4 had some serious issues.. this is by far the thickest oil i've ever seen.
it redefines the term "sludge".. no lie

came up with this setup.. makes lapping a breeze.. I just press on the face of the valve

I was under the impression these were standard bore pistons when I bought them



oh well, at least I didn't start honing the stock bore before they got here

lol better than having a bored block and getting standard pistons.. over bore's never hurt and it cost like 80 bucks yo

What did you use to do this? Looks like a tap bit and ...?

a tap bit and a rubber grommet I found laying around.. it held the end of the valve really tight.. so I just spun it from the back side and applied pressure from the front.

them srps are 75.5 mm
