Don't they devide Auto-x into classes like turbo, no turbo, under 2.0, over 2.0? I would think that turboing your car would put you into a class with WAY higher HP than you could make with a civic. (IE 50000 dollar porsches and stuff...) Am I right. Oh yeah, I would just do a B18c swap and see how you like it before you turbo. If you HAVE to go turbo I would say use a B18B (LS motor) and turbo that with High RPM range cams, you can always keep that motor spinning high RPM in Auto-X

I do. they have a longer stroke than b-series engines and have a cam that is aimed for a lower rpm range. have you ever seen a b series make 250hp/250tq? I have or better yet 344hp/306tq now show me a b series powerplant that does anything near that...... there designed to be reved and thats where they make the power at unlike the d series engines that were designed to have good streetablility and decent mid range power. I unlike yourself have either had first hand experience or have researched information before I say anything. so unless you have some proof as to why none of this makes sense, i'd chill out a bit. but i'm sure you'll come back with some immature remarks.

There is nothing wrong with a SM Honda, just be ready to bring 300 whp and 245 tires. Oh yeah, daily driving on 900lb rear springs is not fun. I don't have a ton of trouble keeping up with local SM classes, but national is a different story....then again, a ~240 whp all motor hatch won SM this year at Topeka.

As for your turbo, I would not use the .42/.48 T3, that is a bit small unless you like shifting into 3rd gear alot to find the power. GT2871R or a GT28RS would suit must autocross courses just fine. I have used the GT2871R as well as a Greddy 18G (both over 300 whp) in my SM Integra and they work fine. The only thing I would want more from the car is to be able to fit more rubber under it. The top E36 M3 guys are running 305s and 335mm tires out back. Oh yeah, don't use the LS tranny, the gearing just blows.

Alright well ignore what everyone here said and use a d-series engine with a TD04-13g turbo.
Perfect for auto-x.
