Default ----! turbo spooling but no boost!

well it's like this. Was driving my car yesterday boosting the ---- out of it and heard a little pop like one of my charge pipes disconnected or something. Now since then my car only boosts like 3 psi. When I'm driving I can hear the turbo spooling like crazy (whistling like a muthafucka) and can kinda hear air blowing. I've checked all the charge pipes and they are fine. I even took them off and put them back in. Did a compression test and I'm pretty good 80 90 90 100 so I'm kinda stumped. The only things I can think of is that the turbo is screwed or my charge pipe connectors are bad. For the connectors I'm using connectors that are used for PVC pipe I think, they are black and made of rubber, They look ok but maybe once boost hits they have a hairline tear I cant see or something. Could the turbo be messed up even if I can hear it spool and the inmpeller blades are fine? I'm stumped any help would be nice.

gotta be leaking somewhere.. find out where.

i think u could use carb cleaner on the fittings and when the idle goes up theres your leak.. or gas.

try that.

80-90-90-100 for compression? how many cranks did you do for the testing? That seems low..
BTW, how did you fix your ECU/SAFC problem? and more importantly, WHERE'S THE WRITE UP OF YOUR INSTALL

Those black rubber fittings for PVC suck, and if you tighten them too much, they'll break through and leak.

Yeah that compression seems a little low. Should be at least around 120 on all.

well I only let it turn over like 3 times on ones less than 100 and the one that put out 100 i let it go like 5. My mechanic said the compression was fine so I'm not worried about it. The ECU problem was some dumb ----. The wires going into the O2 touched the O2 housing and melted 2 of them together causing it to ground out everyhting. So it wasnt the AFC or the ECU. What was this about carb cleaner? Basically the same thing as putting soapy water on the pipes right?

one of your boots have a tear in em, thats why it spools so loud, your still gettin boostst but 2 psi or wahteve ris leakin out the crack, chcck around the clamps there might be signs of tear aroudn em.

damn right. One of my couplings had a 2 inch tear running along the seem that I couldnt even see. This is good warning to people that if you are going to use those PVC couplings it's a good idea to either wrap them in some kinda of tape or put and extra hose clamp right in the middle of it.

oh yeah I'll have the write up done soon. I keep having to change things as little kinks arise. Really dont want to give anyone any info and have them use and ---- something up. I'd rather ---- my car up than have someone else follow my instructions and mess theirs up U know.
