coming from someone who saved up to buy a Kaaz LSD, then waited 9 months to install due to lack of funding...........I wanna try a OBX.

$830 for a Kaaz 4-5 years ago...........now do your research. KaazUSA is no longer bringing the LSD's to the US, I'm praying I can get a clutch pack!

First hand I will not give my customers a part that'll last 20,000 miles when you can pay a lot up front and save money in the long run with a LSD that'll last 100,000. I'm sorry if that upsets you, but those have been my experiances. OBX LSD's tend to last around 20k as opposed to others lasting 100,000 or more. Through out my experiances factory LSD's seem to be the best, honestly. Especially Mazda ones when they get old the more HP you feed them the better they hold. LOL Except crappy Miata torsen ones. 200 ft/tq or more might gernade them. Not trying to ---- on NE1 just offering my experiances with them since you asked...

You've used the OBX LSD? What happened to the ones that "didn't last?"

My OBX has seen alot of miles and abuse, no problems. My Nissan Factory LSD on te SR20DE FWD suchs Balls.

Have you never heard a LSD when they go bad? When LSD's go bad they grind, hiss, scratch, whine, and click on deceleration first then in reverse then everywhere. Cool thing about LSD's is that when they're going bad they grip even harder and engauge even earlier, but then eventually they hardly work and feel like a slipping clutch. One tire burnoputs are cool. LOL! They sometimes get crazy and randomly engauge. This is really unsafe especially in mid turn when only the inside tire is turning then suddenly the outside tire gets tuns more power to it. That's what my buddies was doing. It was in his EF w/ H22 and is lasted about 30k before is started dieing. I do a lot of SCCA solo II and the Honda guys I know like torsen style. Word of mouth is that they have stood up to abuse better. But then again you feed a torsen too much TQ and gears start chipping and failing. I've got no experiance with the Nissan FWD ones but I've heard they're not the best. I'm not here to argue with internet thugs the guy asked for experiances, and I gave hime mine. I personally would wait an extra month or two and save up to buy what I know will work best in the long run even if it costs more up front because it'll save you in the long run, but if you feel otherwise then that's cool too. Maybe there was a bad batch that circulated and they got a bad rep. Maybe it's a great product. I'd sure like to know if it is. It's good to know that there are people out there with good experiances with them.

im with this guy, id prob buy a obx though cause id rather spend my money else where, but you pay for what you get, it might not be the best, but its getting the job done again and again!

I have heard lots of complaints about sticking axles and the fact you have to double check the Chinese kids asse3mbly but never actaully heard of one failing. ???

of they 6-7 OBX installs I've done, I've yet to have any come back with any issues. Been 18+ months since the first one I've installed. The first couple I didn't shim at all, left ot the factory shim and went WIDE, like .018-.022" side clearance/ Stock calls for .000-.004" for a daily beater. Since we like to BEAT on our Hunders I prefer .005-.010" clearance to allow for heat expansion. Something I was taught by a Canuck who has more tranny knowledge than me.

Oh yeah, Quaife and Kaaz have been the best/easiest to install. Their diffs are same width as stock, I haven't had to reshim then yet.

PS I will only use OEM bearings thru a Honda online dealer or GearspeedInc.com
