Default Engine Missfires Under Load - WTF???

I really hope someone out there can help me. Not sure where to post for this Q so sorry. I need to firgure out whats wrong before I mount the turbo(dont wanna blow my motor). Ive been having probs w/ my N/A Y8 for the past month now. My engine keeps missfireing under load and sometimes at idle. My check engine came on and I had the ecu scanned. It came out that my engine was running rich and there was an error in the fuel trim. No prob, I turned down the presure on FPR to about 42psi at WOT, Didnt work. I then tried advancing then retarding the timing (w/ out a gun) and no effect. I checked my plugs and there still kosher. I still have a few ideas what it might be not sure. Bad plug wires maybe, bad coil or rotor? By the way, I have a MSD SCI. Do I need a valve adjustment? My valves do tap like a motha. What about just reseting the timing to stock. I did have this prob about 4 months ago and just put new plugs in. Problem was solved. 2 months later its back? whats up? I tried all I can but nothing helps. someone please help so I can finally put my turbo on..

Well how many miles do you think the plugs, wires, cap and rotor have on them? It might just be time for a tune up. No big deal. Also, what is your timing set at right now? How is your timing belt? I'd take a look into the timing issues, and re-set timing to stock if necessary, replace the belt if it's worn, and take it from there. Chances are you'll have to try and retard timing for the turbo setup anyway, wheather it's at the distributor or not, so you might as well just get this straight now instead of building up more problems later on.

if you're out of ideas take off your distributor, and try to rotate the rotor shaft. If it wobbles you're screwed; new distributor time. Your description sounds exactly like mine did right before my distributor took a ---- and died.
