dsm bov open at idle? ignition timing?
heres the deal. ive got two dsm bovs neither of them are open at idle. on my old kit w/ some china knock off its was open w/ idle. i tested on of them and it doesnt open till 27 inch lbs of vac. yes it is crushed. i havent tested the other yet. it blows off with boost but i think its also backing out the compressor housing. the car is only running 8lbs on a 14b hmt style for sure. the engine is a d16z6 w/ the odb0 modified dizzy. my next issue is all i can get for timing is 7 degrees btdc. anyone else have this issue. thanks

if you hear a fluttering noise, than its possible that some air is going back thru the compressor. my 1g bov is open about 1/2" at idle. also, any sort of engine management relies on 16* btdc so if you can only get 7 than you're either A) not making the power you could be or B) driving around a grenade

so you saying that it being that far retarded will blow it? i dont see why. i know it can make more power. plans of odb1 conversion is in the making. car is pulling strong as it is

grind out the upper bolt hole on the dizzy so u can rotate it towards the windshield. or away from the bumper. then you can adjust the timing fully
my dsm is open at idle. just a tiny bit. its not crushed
