did the initial startup today. wastegate open at idle. its a trimmed 10psi spring, but theres only 1 coil taken off, and it was still hard as ---- to compress by hand--not much easier than before it was timmed. vacuum lines were hooked up properly. it has to be the spring right? do i have to get a new spring, or can i shim it or something. any ideas?

 

How do you know its open at idle? Unless you running anti-lagg?
Spring is fucked , get a new one. Last thing you want is the gate to fail

its leaking past the wastegate. Did you put the fire ring in?

fucken noob, there is a little ring that seals the wastegate, its called the fire ring. :1

 

got it. fixed it. it boosts hard. i wondered what that little metal ring was for, the w/g didnt come with directions and there were a few extra flanges, i kinda figured it was for the dump or something. whatev. thanks ladies
