Re: Does Twin Charging Actually Work?
Well the guy he is talking about who is doing this is me...
And no you can not add the two psi togeather.. you have to work it WAY differently... the compression ratio of each pulley comes into play and what size turbo and every thing... me and my dad who is a mechanical engineer for 20yrs specializing in compressors and hot rod builder for a good 30+years have worked this out for at least the last 3+ months...
and just for out own record... we are not new to boost... 3 of our 4 cars are boosted.... all done by us and tuning by us... never blowen an engine yet
I know what you people who are saying it is useless are getting at... and yes i know with a well done turbo kit you can get the same results... but i had the supercharger on for a year and wanted somthing new... and so we though "hey why not be original, and try somthing new on the Jbody" so that is how it started... i dont expect to see any higher numbers then what a turbod 2.4L would put out at the same psi... but its my torque/power curve and how i get to that final number which i expect to be different...
and here is the picture of my engine bay
Yes its a stock 2.4L right now... im going to work out all the bugs and then go with a stroked 2.5L race built engine...

Re: Does Twin Charging Actually Work?
Very happy that you said a propper turbo set-up can do the same.. that is all I had ever said in your JBO posts. I was totally unaware that you were just trying to do something new rather than break records or whatever.
That said, I wish you the best of luck!

There's a thread on honda tech by a guy who did it with great results. Try searching there.
check this out too

Btw here in Italy the Lancia S4 is still talked about with great nostalgia. It was absolutely incredible. The race version had about 700 hp... with no lag. From a 1.7 liter!!
The funny thing is, VW is now coming out with a production twincharged Golf. There must be something valid in twincharging after all, you think?
