detonation????
I have the hack done and the car feels good but it detonates everynow and then in first or second but it never does it in third and i get a check engine light on when i boost everynow and then. this is all on a d16a6 what the hell is going on. i have colder plugs and the fuel is set on -35 all the way across on high. the car kicked the ---- out of my brothers rsx type s the other night but today i couldn't even beat him by a nose. boost still reads eight pounds could it possibly leak and still read eight pounds? can old spark plug wires cause any of the detonation?
i have a d16a6 with the following
walboro 255 fuel pump
450cc blue tops
safc II now at (-31 all the way across)
td04 (8psi)
side mount intercooler
MSD 6al
MSD BTM retarded 1 degree
1G blow off
NGK 7 gapped at .028
runs good but sometimes it pops and makes the check engine light come on and it won't boost until I turn the car off and on again. what do you guys think.

-31%?You should be at like -38% or so.If you were at 35 before and you went up to 31,your adding fuel. The lower the #,the leaner the mix is.Like I said befor you have to be at like 38% or so and go frome there.
NO.keep in mind you are going - not +.So if you go 38 that is less fuel than 31.0 will be 450cc.at 31% you are at 419cc.At 38% you are at412cc.The higher you go in the negative the leaner you will be.Its basic math!
so what should i do go up higher and that will fix it. I figure the at 31 i'm super rich so that makes the car run safley right
I know how to do math if my car is detonating i need to add fuel not take it out.
