Hey I've known about the d15b 3 stage vtec for years, but I'm unsure on whether or not it could be turbo'd and tuned etc seeing as how it has 2 vtec actuators. The entire lean mode operation scares me in regards to adding the turbo into the situation etc..

Anybody know about turbo'ing and tuning these?

 

I had never even heard of them before i saw this thread. Might take more time to spool the turbo. Also not sure if there is any software where you can tune 3 maps for ignition and fuel. Looks like a cool project to try out though.

I'd say screw it and lock all the rocker arms and go nonvtec.

 

They are slower then the d15 non-vtec. I used to work at a japenese engine place, everyone that got those engines hated them. Just because it has three stage vtec does not make it faster. Three stage vtec FTL

 

3 stages is for fuel economy.. they arent as slow as a d16y7 lol.. but they get a good 38mpg thats what i want to put in my daily look nice ride slow cheap gas
