You just tap your engines water pump and have it cool the inside of the cylinder instead of the outside of it, that way your car runs much cooler in the summer !!!

Water injection is a good charge coolant but you mustn't use too much or you'll lose power. It's not a magic octane booster and has nothing to do with gas octane directly.
I'm thinking about putting water injection for 2 reasons:
Help keep charge temps down on the street as I have a water to air intercooler which soaks up in hard driving.
Keep the engine clean, I have a variable nozzle turbocharger which doesn't like carbon, and excessive carbon buildup can seize the control nozzles.

Is is a magic octane booster if you mix alchohol in with the water You also won't loose much power than way...
