Default car spools up 2 slow??

have a rhb5 on my a6 with cam headwork ect ect. seems to me that im not sppoling up like i should. i hit 6 psi by 4grand and i think i should be hitting this by like 3 or 2800 am i right? i have a 32.5 inch mandrel dp but im running a cat a 2inch exhaust from thereback... is that what is killing my spool up time? also i amk not running a huge front mount but a sidemount where the battery used to be with a fan.

32" downpipe! holys hit!

yes get a 3" straight through exhaust.

just rip the exhaust out and run open downpipe see if that helps.

You have a 3.25" downpipe F#%@#$ that's HUGE...
My buddy has only a 3" downpipe in his TT Supra !

I'm also using the IHI RHB5 in my D16Z6...
I have a 2.5" downpipe and the "stock" diameter catback pipe (1.75" or something like that), and I'm hitting 5 PSI at 2900 RPM 7 PSI at 3100 RPM, and like 12 PSI at 3300 RPM... (I gotta lower that though, 'cause my engine will F%#$%^ up really fast if I don't )

Don't you think that the downpipe that you're using might be a bit too big... Is there even such a possibility that the downpipe that hotrex is using is TOO BIG, and that's causing the IHI to spool up so slowly
There's gotta be something wrong with your setup, 'cause 4000 RPM is VERY HIGH.....
Maybe plugged IC pipes, or IM pipes.....

could be an exhaust leak before the turbo my car leaks between the adapter plate on both sides and it has no bottom end, if i floor it\, it goes no where, it sucks gotta make a new one cause the threads are stripped.

check for exhaust leaks and the WG arm. Do you have an air filter on it? Clean? what size?

d16z6:

well, I had wanted to gut my cat and after doing reasearch I opted not to...then I was going through our garage and i found a testpipe...I asked my dad about it and he said it was comptech testpipe for a civic...only thing is it had the threads for OBD2...I plugged those up and replaced my cat with it...it fit, I am happy, and there is a ridiculously small amount of lag time.

thanks,
chris
