ECU sees the high heat and pulls a shitload of timing and dumps fuel.......that along with the shitty air

ordering the intercooler tomorrow(maybe). well i dont have an adjustable cam gear yet and the dizzy timing is set on the first of the three lines you see (the one on top) does timing have anything to do with it? i also think my timing belt is off because when i set the timing to stock timing the car runs really crappy, it hesitates a lot(when car was still n/a). i was thinking it might be my distributor too, maybe the previous owner didnt intall it right. is there any way i could check this? thanks for the help guys
