Default Ca HMT possibilities?

Hello, new to the forum, and im tossing around some ideas.

In a few months i plan to be picking up a 2nd car... a "commuter", and between one semester of college id like to play around with the idea of a custom turbo. The cars ill be picking up is either an E30 325e/i, a 240sx, or a 5.0 3rd gen camaro. Whichever i find first for the right price.

Has anyone here done a remote turbo?? I feel that this may be the best setup for me so i can quickly remove it for smog time. Another idea i was thinking of would be to place the turbo right after the header, where the exhaust system would start. Then run the appropriate piping and lines. However this wouldn't work with the camaro and im still unsure how i would do the oil lines so they could be easily removed and/or hidden from the smog tech.

Any input would be appreciated.

Smog isn't important enough to take the damn thing off every 2 years. You'll either have your smog check done in Compton, Lynwood, or Watts, or you won't be turbo. It's too much work.

Post-Axle mounted turbos are usually for 94+ f-bodies, as they hardly have enough room left to fit a hampster in the engine bay (stock), let alone a turbo.

Usually its done with a very long oil feed, and a pump for the oil return. Look around at the appropriate forums (camaro, bmw, nissan) for how they normally do it. If you can't hide the oil lines for that sort of setup from a smog tech, you may just suck at life.

And HMT is mostly for showing off your own ideas and the enlightened discussion of hard-core ****. :1 Asking 'us' to brainstorm for you is worse then showing pictures of naked me. Well, almost.
