maybe you an start by telling us what kind of turbo you are talking about. alot of factory cars come with water cooling to help prolong the life of the turbo and reduce coking. its not really neccesary to hook of the lines to a junkyard turbo if you let you engine cool down for a minute or drive home easily before you shut it down. although hooking the lines up is as simple as using your throttle body coolant line to supply the turbo and returning back to the throttle body.

i love some of the bs myths that circulate around by people who think they know what they're talking about. Obviously your friend hasn't seen any real forced induction cars, like drag cars or high powered supras, none of them are watercooled.

if i had a turbo that was the size of a bagel-bite i whould def hook up the coolant lines. those little turbos make soo much heat to get any decient #s.
but if it where for say a thunderbird t3 like the one i have in my garage, i whouldnt even bother. anything as big or bigger than a t3 imo is pretty much pointless.

If you plan on driving the car on the street, running coolant lines isn't a bad idea. It will only make the trubo live longer. If you are just going to race the car, it's not really worth it. If ANYone here tells you that it will make your car overheat that's bunch of BS. I have ran coolant line to my turbo for the HEATER CORE lines on one of my cars and it acully takes LONGER to get up to temp. This is with a STOCK 29-95 civic half core one row.

pardon me for not being details enaugh. Im running RHB52 turbo now in my corolla 7AFE motor. It does comes with waterjack as i see it just that i didnt hook it up as i initially thought oil cooled is sufficient enaugh as i doesnt boost that much on my normal street driving and normally in crusing home at least 100m before reaching. Yes, i don't do drag racing

the reason asking so is due to i had my turbo replaced twice in this 1 year period. something must be wrong. my oil feed line was ok so that should not be the cause. that's lead me to thought of this question after seeking friends opinion. so If my friend jump off the bridge, that is his foolish while im only seeking opinion. Well now it doubts me the FORUM purpose since there is a guy here who born genius and know everything once he was born. nevertheless i do appriciate all the comments and opinion posted by the rest of the bro though.

would i be wrong if those drag machine doesnt really cooked up thier turbo that often due to the the numbers of thier running time? i mean they only full boost for merely 10 sec and posibility for 3-4 times in that day alone. As for the rest of the day, the machine was just sit in the garage whereas street usage is daily and frequent in usage?

you barely use your car at all by normal standards, it is what we call a "trailer queen"
if the turbo has ports for watercooling, use it, 5$ worth of hose and fittings will do the trick
if it doesnt, dont
check on your oil drain line
