burning oil after boost

burning oil after boost
i did a new headgasket, ARP headstuds and timing belt on my crx before i installed my turbo kit. when i ran the engine na it ran clean, no burnt oil or coolant. once i installed my tubo kit and started driving the car. It burns significant amounts of oil, and sometimes it looks like coolant too. but the oil isnt burning all the time. it only burns durring vaccuum after i let off throttle, then when i throttle again, puffs out blue.it doesnt burn oil when i start accelerating or when i boost. i know the way the oil is burning is typical of valve seals cuz i had the same problem on my civic. but im not sure where the occaisional white coolant cloud would be coming from? i talked to a local JDM engine importer and he tells me that often motors that he brings in that have blown headgaskets that were driven on before then were fixed still burn oil / coolant after then have had a new headgasket installed. he says that all the old burnt oil and coolant needs to completely burn out, once the headgasket stops leaking. he told me to run it for a week before i do anything about it. could the seals in the turbo be gone would oil burn from the turbo like it does when it burns from leaking valve seals if it was turbo seals, i would assume that the oil and coolant would be burning all the time since there is constant oil and coolant presure to the turbo.the car is being sold to someone who doesnt want it to burm oil, so id liek to be able to fix it without having to go through a ton of trial and error and replacing lots of parts etc. someone has had to have had the same problem and coudl help me narrow down what it woudl be.

If it smokes when you get back on the gas after decelerating in gear (like you described), then it's your valve seals.
My car does the same thing. If I coast for a while in gear and then give it some gas, I get a big blue smoke screen. lol If I take it out of gear and coast in neutral, then I burn zero oil.
I need to get around to changing those seals out. lol

Re: burning oil after boost
its fucked up cuz its not burning as much oil as i previously thought. the first day it burned a ---- load. its starting to confuse the ---- outa me cuz lately it hasnt been blowing oil much after deceleration...n if i put it in neutral and coast, .. it doesnt burn any at all. but im still seeing the occaisional small white cloud. im not sure if its valve seals anymore .. im gonna borrow a leakdown tester from a friend but im stil not sure where the occaisional white puff comes from ... ill definitly check the pcv valve.. i never really thought of that.
if my return angle was shitty then wouldnt my car always smoke?..... i used the stock return on the IHI turbo and jsut clamped some hydrolic hose to it and to the fitting i welded to my oilpan..
