I dunno, but isn't welding the runners to a ready made collector a PITA? I mean welding at the center of the collector when all the runners are in place.

I'll have my bro in law do the welding, just going to mig weld it.

He uses a basic ESAB mig wire feed welder, I work with him and he welds 40 hours a week and then some so I trust his work. Personally I can handle a tack weld ok, so I'll mock it up and take it to him.

As for a pre-made collector, funktify that. I want to try to make the 4 manifold tubes 1 piece from flange to flange, it probably won't happen but ill still try. Between my ability and ideas, and my bro in law's ability and ideas, we ought to be able to make something strong that works nicely.

So 1.5" on the runners? How thick? Should I stick to the .120 wall?

I won't be using elbows, when I need a bend, I'll bend it.

Also, on 1.5" runners, .120 wall would reduce inner diameter to 1.25". Go up to 1.75"?!?

don't brace it to the frame, the engine moves independant of the frame and the turbo moves with the engine, you'll break more ---- having it braced to the car.

Don't mig it. See if you can use a tig. Its so much easier and the results are better.
