i wasn't aware that obd0 ecu's stored the trouble codes, yes i am familiar with this on obd1 applications.
I have now installed a known good distributor and still have the same issue, except now the tach doesn't work at all.
(i also swapped my old distributor back in to rule out new dizzy being bad.)
i just checked the voltage between b16/b18 and A10 on the ecu harness, according to helms it should be ~10v , between b18 and a10 is 11.7 volts and b16 /a10 is 7.4 volts so apparently there is a short somewhere.
