i got some pics on my buddies cam of the rest of the build, pistons going in and ----. i just got it running today, but the goddamn holes in the adapter plate are stripped. im so ------- sick of that piece of ----. i wish i would have just made my own manifold from the beginning. i couldnt get 2 missing bolts this late at night to take it out tonight. First i lost the washer that goes under the banjo bolt for the fuel filter, but took one off my buddies car... then found out that i lost 2 of the adapter plate bolts. this car hates me. But it started, and idled... not bad for my first time assembling a motor.

leed- im a broke ----------er now... i dont know if ill ever pay someone $100 to tell me how much power my car makes. Ill do it myself in the 1/4. Definately curious about the ct. i cant wait. In my buddies cam are the side by sides with the nissan 63/60. Its more than twice the size. But at least i can rev my ---- to 8k now, to combat the lag.[

Same here, I assume the CT26 is from a Supra, I'm going to be running one on a DOHC ZC in the spring, stock block. Let me know how it flows. IIRC CT26 starts to become inefficient around 18psi, not 15, but that's on a 3L Toyota engine, not a 1.6L Honda. Regardless, 20 psi from a CT26 should rip pretty good.
^^^ i agree 100%. My buddy went to the dyno with his built d, running the turbo i have now, and zdyne on a built y8. at 20psi he make 278whp. On an engine half the size of a supra, im sure its gonna haul ***. when i switched from the 42/48 to the 63/60, it was rediculous. Im starting on the manifold this week for the ct.

slocrx, i origionally wanted these eagle h beams that are always on egay for 225. But they werent there when i was ready to buy. there was a set of scats for 250, so i bought them. I use to drive a stang so i know scat is a good company, primarily for domestics, but a rod is a rod. and yea, im gonna boost the ---- out of those things. After the winter im probably gonna try running like 25-28psi on them. wish me luck!

What's your piston to wall clearance?? There's a on vitara's showing a lot of play on a stock 1.6 in good condition.

just started it up and drove it home. Not to thrilled with whats going on. I dont know if it is break in smoke coming from the engine, but when i accelerate/make boost, it is still smoking (the reason i built the engine). I also have a bad miss, probably from the fucked up plugs. since no store was open past 6 today i couldnt get new ones. Im also getting a cel for IACV and O2 heater circuit. Im pretty sure their both plugged in. Ill update more tomorrow. i get out of work at a decent time so ill have some time to work on it.

btw.. piston to wall has to be pretty good, it really does sound like a diesel. As it warms up it gets better, but definately clankity clanks. Pics!

How much of an end gap in the rings are you running and how did you position them?

Your rings probably have not seated yet. Do a few hard runs and hopefully it will stop smoking. Break out the compression tester to check if they are seated yet.

yea, their not seated yet. i checked compression today. only 110. i cant do any hard runs because something in my ignition is fucked up. the car drives fine for like 2 minutes while its warming up, but after that if i more than rest my foot on the pedal, it misses like a bitch. today i put brand new plugs in, checked the cap, swaped the set of inj. out. it got better with the plugs, but definately still misfireing at low rpms and more than 1/4 throttle. Yes the plugs are gapped down to .030". I'm gonna try swapping the wires tomorrow, but their only 8months old.

ring end gap was .021" i think. Right in spec. Even though your not supposed to, the oil expander ring gap is inline with the wristpin, the top and bottom oil control rings are 1" to the left and the right. the 2nd compression ring is on the opposite wristpin, and the 1st compression ring is inline with the oil ring gap. I did it this way because thats how my buddy did his. He's never had a problem.

btw-- the smoke is now gone. i guess it was just break in smoke from the motor. coincidentally, it was occuring at the same time my car used to smoke (before the rebuild)

I'm having the same (at least it sounds like it) misfiring problem as you-- any time i go more like 1/4 throttle it misfires like hell but no CEL or anything so i dunno-- let me know if the plug wires resolve it or if you fix it what you did-- shoot me a pm or something if you have time. Thanks in advance
