What if you hotsex style Devcon 2-3 inches down the bore?

Cylinder shift is a problem at some point isn't it?

There is no cylinder shift problem. Breaching the headgasket when cylinder pressure spike 3+ times normal peak values due to detonation problems, but show me an engine that doesn't so that - the ones that don't consume the pistons/valves, and it costs more than a headgasket to fix.

You were talking about the lack of head "lift" and said something about cylinder shift, iirc now it was about detonation being the problem.

cyl shift is from decking the block and not leaving the sleeves a HAIR higher than the block.. right?

well technically you would want the sleeve to be a ---- hair higher the deck of the block, sealing the coolant/oil passages isnt as tough a task as sealing thousands of pounds of cylinder pressure. youll obviously want the gasket to be sealed tighter then the coolant/oil areas as the max those will ever see is 16-20 psi.

Bad idea, inducing warpage by making an unyielding surface higher. The headgasket has raised sealing rings around the bores, and when you o-ring a Honda you use soft copper wire so it deforms to make the seal.
