Default Bigger compressor housing, worth it???(with pics)

I have a "smallish" turbocharger, a gt17 from a SAAB but since my car is only 1.3 liters of raw power is actually a good match...

But now i have 2 compressor housings one bigger and one smaller then the gt17, one came from a 2.2liter diesel SAAB and another from a 3.0 v6 diesel, both are gt15 turbos and both housings fit the gt17 almost perfect...

Would it be worth to put the bigger compressor?? I wouldn´t mind having a bit more power in the high end and a slowest spooling turbo...

The bigger compressor would give me more CFM`S at higher rpm´s, at same boost right?? I want to keep low pressure(0.5) and decrease the turbo speed and thus air temperatures...

The huge 3.0liter v6 turbo:

My actual turbo:

Swaping them would cost as much as brand new turbo, due to balancing...
The filter location is temporary...

No... Not really, at least the gti model with it´s 10:1 c/r... But their quite strong this engines and in stock form can handle 7psi... If in good condition...

Going back on the topic i also could just swap the turbine wheel, and machine the housing maintaining the a/r, but would i really see any gains

Yes, you would. I .60 comp swapped my 42/63, but the wheel isn't the right size so I don't get FULL benefit. There is a gain for sure though.

Yes you could hybrid this turbo with a larger compressor.
supposing you find a compressor housing that fits the gt17, just make sure the base of the wheel is the same diameter. custom machining the backplate can suck.
I can balance that rotating assembly for cheap....if you ever get to that point.

I already have 2 compatible housings, backplates and wheels, one smaller and one bigger... But what i want to know is that would i benefit to change to a bigger housing?

This Hydrid turbo would look sick cause the compressor would be way bigger then the turbine... But i´m not after looks i´m after low end, cause my turbo runs out of juice at 5000k...

Yes, such hybrid would improve your top end for sure and heat up the air less for the same amount of boost.
However, your turbine, which is really tiny on the GT17, will become the bottle neck for your turbo. I am not sure how much power it can support before it starts choking the exhaust.
