Re:best turbo for JDM B16a SiR II
oh god, where do these questions and answers come from.
a t3/t4 or even a t3 is perfect for a JDM b16a. plus jdm usdm its the same ----. so eliminate that ricer jdm ----.
a b16 motor can hold in my opinion about 13psi max and thats with a standalone and perfect or close to it tuning.
8psi will hold up fine and last for a while.
get a t3/t4 60 trim that way you have something to play with if you ever get any further in motor building.
go to www.cheapturbo.com
i think there 550 now shipped.

Re:best turbo for JDM B16a SiR II
their is actually a big differnce in the JDM/USDM versions of ---- dude.
B16a JDM (1g) is the weakest B16a they make. Weak cam profile for Vtec, and single valve springs.
The SIR II has better cams, and better springs, plus it comes with a Hydro tranny.
I would suggest a T3/T4 hybrid turbo.. Lots of Trims and sizes are availbile, depending on how much boost you want to run, and how fast you want it to spool.

I'm running stock block, stock head, with only a thicker headgasket at 10-12psi on a T3 (.63 a/r), and i'm very happy with it. It doesn't really have the bottom end you'd expect, but once the boost kicks in, all worries about bottom end simply dissapear.. hehe.
