im going to be running about 8-9 PSI once i put a new front mount ic on it, will the HKS SSQV work or doe it require higher amounts of boost?

 

You could try one of mine if you like. The main body is 3 inch diameter with a 2 inch actuator piston inside. The valve is 1.2 inch diameter. The valve can be adjusted to give a whoooshing sound or a sharp cracking open sound. I designed it so that no matter what the boost level it can't leak. The main body and top are machined from solid aluminum bar stock and the valve is a UHMW polymer sealed with an O ring. The lid is held down with 6 .250 inch stainless steel socket head screws and the valve comes complete with a mounting bung which you can weld in (please specify steel or aluminum). I sell these valves for $125 each and I've never had any problems with them. Compared to the usual blow off valve they are much higher quality and a bit more exclusive. My buddy fitted one of these to his Z28 twin turbo and it flows enough air to keep both of those turbos spooled!

The best BOV sound is simple. Its the sound of a domestic car's bov in a parking lot full of imports :P lol sorry coudlnt help it.

 

No sound file but it can give whatever sound you like. Make the spring tension soft and it will give a gentle slow sort of release. Raise the tension and it gives a sharp sound. The valve kinda shudders a bit on my turbo Celica, sounds very cool but not so load that it pisses you off. Gets louder as you start stomping on the gas though but is quite understated with normal driving. (normal? WTF's that?)

 

no man? the sickest BOVs are the DSM BOVs modified with an old car alarm horn duct taped on there...loud yoo..."and da whistles go WOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

 

the best sounding is a 1g off a DSM, they only hold like 17 psi but that should be good for most hondas unless you got internals done.

i've seen a couple 1G DSM BOV's on EBAY and some say they are crushed and some not. WTF does that mean, does it make a differance?

 

I used to have the TurboXS Rhfl BOV, I hated it... sound like ------- air brakes on a semi... I changed over to a greddy type-s and when I softened the blow lol, my car whistles alot I love it now :P Its musical!
