Bad Wastegate on 14b?

Just got a 14b yesterday and the wastegate is dented in a couple spots. I can't move the rod on it in and out in it, don't know if you are able to, and was wondering if there is a way to test it? Also is there a writeup on how to modify the arm to run lower boost?

It's going to be firm, pull harder. You should be able to pull it out some. You can test it by hooking it up to an air compressor set at 8 psi, it should open. Do some searching, there's been a few threads about messing with the actuator arm.

Is the wastegate flap supposed to be closed? cause mine isnt, it is open a little bit

Yea it needs to be fully closed.

if its not youll get more lag
and watch out for creep

---- yeah lag. It won't build boost for ---- if it's not fully sealed. Creep if it doesn't open fully.

the 14 b waste gate sux
i was getting huge creep running open turbo and the flapper wired open
if i was you id run external or port the internal one to be safe
