Like I honestly give 2 ***** whether or not you're ASE master tech or not...most of the people that I know who have it as well are morons.
When it all boils down to it, yeah...emissions was pretty much the biggest reason for obd2. After '95 emissions laws started getting stricter. Besides, my wrx pops a check engine light if I leave the gas cap off accidently...comes up with some b.s. fuel evap leak code, or it tosses a code for pre-cat o2 sensor when you get low on gas. What do those things have to do with engine performance and how it operates? Absolutely jack-----. I run my boosted b16a off obd0, and after some tweaking just hit 38mpg today with a mix of city and highway driving. ---- emissions, ---- obd2...I'm a straight pipe, open air dump pcv polluting s.o.b. and I don't give a ----.

Get some TT rods and you'll be fine. Vitaras will hold, no problem there.

Get a jumper from Xenocron.. otherwise I have one for sale (brand new) for cheap.

finally, someone recognizes I am a retard! :P

(The poor guy says he will have the car tuned by some local shop. Why beating on him with all kinds of fancy tuning details if he decided to have this part of the build profesionaly done? Let's assume whoever this tuner is, that he can live up to his claims and knows what he is doing! )

Tnanks for the help everyone! I have finally decided what im gonna do... When I get the turbo kit, im sellin the turbo on ebay for the price of a real t3/4 . next, im sellin the peened rods, and getting something better like scat rods. Finally, i am going to buy an ecu, and off I go! With better rods alone, im sure I would hit 300hp because i can run alot more boost. I am just swapping parts to make my setup reliable because this will be my everyday driver. Hope to see (and smoke ) some of you on the streets!

LMAO...you think I'm gettin' butt hurt over that, that's funny. Hell, any of the obd series pops a cel light and the gas mileage goes down, not just obd2. It has to do with sending it into a "safe" or "limp" mode to try and avoid engine damage. Usually ends up pulling timing and adding fuel to make sure it's on the "safer" side, therefore your power decreases and you gas mileage drops. Where as obd0 has a small limited map scale, obd1 has a larger one (I think 8x8 and 15x15 respectively, but not 100% sure), obd2 steps up to a slightly larger size for fine tuning to increase mileage, power, and reduce emissions. Only problem is obd2 is so highly integrated that under certain conditions even at wot it won't read directly off the map, meaning it acts like it's in part-throttle closed loop almost 100% of the time. There are too many variables tied in with obd2, which is why nobody wants to touch them as far as making an editor for obd2 honda code.
I'm not making fun of you or anything you've accoplished in your life (read ASE cert.)...more power to you. Knowledge is power, and it's a shame there aren't more people in the world who take the initiative to learn as much as they can.

It happens unfortunately. People have different opinions on everything, and I respect that, but at the same time I take it with a grain of salt. Most of the stuff I go from is my own experience, not a so-and-so's-cousin-said type of thing like H-T is known for. You've earned my respect, alot of people on here would keep arguing their point until it came down to basic name calling. You'll do well here.

I would immediately write off that tuner/shop...Anyone who's willing to do that tune with an afc deserves to get sodomized by hotrex
